2006 ANNUAL FUND DRIVE REMINDER

 

Dear Neighbor,

 

During this busy time of year, we are all asked to make donations to worthy organizations.  Please place your local volunteer fire department on your list of organizations for year-end tax-deductible contributions.  The Weston Volunteer Fire Department has provided fire protection for our neighbors with the help of your generous donations for 75 years.  These contributions are still needed as they supplement the WVFD budget, provide for additional equipment and for fire prevention education.  

 

The local Weston Volunteer Fire Department Benevolent Fund supports many projects within our town including the installation of dry hydrants,  providing fire safety programs, as well as hosting the Open House and Memorial Day Parade.  The Benevolent Fund more importantly helps keep our conservative budget and collective taxes low with a professionally trained, but all volunteer fire department.

 

During the past year, the Weston Volunteer Fire Department received and answered these 592 calls for assistance.

These calls were handled by your neighbors volunteering their time with their highly qualified State mandated training both in fire suppression and hazardous materials management. Your donations to the Benevolent Fund supplement our budget for each firefighter’s multifaceted training and CT State certifications.  You, our neighbors of Weston solely fund this Benevolent Fund, which in turn is utilized to support our community and our ability to serve you better.

 

Please remember to place us, your Weston Volunteer Fire Department that is comprised 100% of volunteer firefighter/neighbors on your list of organanizations to receive your tax-deductible donation.  If you have already given to the Weston Volunteer Fire Department Benevolent Fund this year, thank you again for your generous donation.
